How about Argan oil? I love it... makes my hair super soft.

coconut oil coats the hair shaft and prevents it from swelling with water, which causes breakage. Those "brazillian blowouts" coated people's hair with keratin and prevent frizz and breakage by preventing the hair from absorbing water. Water in the core of the hair causes the hair to become weak and when it dries, the hair is VERY dry...no moisture left. Cones coat the hair temporarily to keep water out, but after a time will not let any moisture in. I have great luck with coconut oil in shampoo..around 1 part coconut oil to 5 parts shampoo. Hard water, use the coconut oil the night before you shampoo or a tiny bit after you are through and before styling.

I just discovered this thread, so interesting! I have found coconut oil to be the best as a leave in but it is hard not to over-do.

Well I tried olive oil for the first time yesterday, as a leave in after CSC. Unfortunately I used WAY too much, so the next few days will be kind of gross! Looking forward to seeing how my hair likes it...

I love olive oil. Like any oil, it's easy to overdo, but when I did overdo it and it finally all rinsed out, my hair was SO soft and shiny, I loved it!

Argan and avocado are my favorites. I also recently started using macadamia oil and my hair is like silk!

My favourite hair oils, in order of preference (1 being my all-time favourite) are:

1. Camellia Japonica oil
2. Hemp Seed oil
3. Sesame oil
4. Coconut oil
5. Avocado oil

My hair does not like: Olive oil, Almond oil, Mustard oil.

My scalp no longer tolerates Neelibhringadi oil or Mahabhringraj oil or any of the other Ayurvedic oils
