This is called perimeter braids sometime. They are easier to do than lace braids. Torin Page has a nice tutorial on YouTube on how to do these. This is how i wear mine http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/...ictureid=89622

I'm having issues with my french braid. It is too loose in the bottom part.

I really had no idea my braid looked so massive. In person it always feels and looks small. Oh well, I shouldn't complain.

Also does anyone know where a loose french braid tutorial would be. I'm not sure what to call it

Artsy, what a beautiful perimeter braid! I've only tried the small rope variety that Torrin uses in her tutorial, but now I really want to try those gorgeous twin braids in your second photo!

What a gorgeous (and long) french braid, Koots! I've read that something that helps some people with bagging at the end of their french braid is taking the final two sections of hair at the bottom of your head and switching them (so that the left section goes in the right strand braid, and vice versa), which tightens the parts right next to the neck.

    Hope that helps!

That sounds like an awesome idea, I'll give it a shot soon and see how it turns out.

First time doing accent braids, I think they turned out okay ^^

    Edit:

The main braid is a Herringbone and the accents are two tiny English braids.
No way I could do herringbone accents, that'd take foreeeever

Ooh, thank you for that idea. I'm gonna try it tomorrow - I always get 'wings', almost, on either side of my neck. Maybe this could prevent that!
