If you go to someone's profile, then to Contacts, there's a tiny dropdown menu that says "User Lists" in which you can add someone to your contacts, friends, or ignore lists

hmm this thread has answered a few questions of mine.. though ill admit i only ever ignored one person and that was only for a little while because i thought that i should give the person a second then a third and even a forth chance.. then the person was banned.. ive been hovering over the idea of putting someone on my ignore list for weeks but i keep thinking that one of these days this person is going to say something important that ill be sorry i missed.. hmm decisions decisions..
im positive im on a few ignore lists.. it doesnt bother me much.. i know i say annoying things.. though thats not as bad as when i say things that make me sound like an idiot..

I second that vote! Mind you it would tell people that they've been put on ignore by the person whos profile they can't access.

Those are good questions, Tap Dancer.

I only have one or two people on ignore, but their blog posts still show up. I'd like it so that I don't even have to see their blogs on the list, but perhaps there's something about blogs which means that the ignore function doesn't work there.

Same. I wish the ignore list would mean I couldn't see thier blogs, thier comments on others blogs, thier posts, etc etc etc.
