    Default Natural conditioner?

So I'm not really looking for a conditioner per se but I didn't know how else to title it. So my hair has grown out enough I need some kind of conditioner/detangling/softening product. The issue is conventional conditioner or detangling spray irritate my scalp and neck. Even a pea sized amount that is thoroughly rinsed out, makes me itch and flare.

I have seborrheic dermatitis and any kind of coating ingredient seems to be a issue, no cones, polyquats, oils, wax, etc.
Petroleum based oils seem ok but they really don't help
much beyond taming flyaways amd adding sone shine.

Is there any kind of herbal something that might help soften and detangle? Nothing that adds color, I'm light blonde and grey. Cassia dries my hair and flax gel makes it rough.
I need to find some aloe leaves and start using gel again. It at least doesn't bother my skin

Some of the things I use in my hair mask and also used, back when I didn't use conditioner are:

Birch leaves, stinging nettle, horsetail (I think that's the name), honey, fengureeek (smells like curry), crushed oats, tea (green or black), hibiscus (may or may not stain light hair). I use more ingredients, but the rest are more for the scalp, than the hair.

I boil water and pour over everything. Let it cool down under a lid and strain it.

I suggest giving a few ingrents a go and getting some aloe vera gel.

Can you use a bit of oil in your lengths, away from the scalp?

do you put flax gel on dry hair or wet hair? in my experience it's kind of drying on dry hair, but on wet hair it's a holy grail

I've found hibiscus helps make my hair more manageable.
Putting it in my signature because I have to say it so often:
Do what works for your hair, not what other people say is "right" or "wrong." If it works for you, it's not wrong. If it doesn't work for you, it's not right.

Hmm, many of those I can source locally and I should have fenugreek powder somewhere. thanks. No oil, my hair doesn't care for any

I too can recommend hibiscus. I use it as a rinse every now and then. It makes my hair so soft.

The dried flowers can also be used for tea.

thank you, will give it a try! we have purple hibiscus ornamental trees in our front yard and their dried flowers aren't as sour tasting as the tea is, i meant that kind. might try to use it too when it blooms and compare
